Easter Eggs for 2014

Every year we decorate Easter eggs at moms.  Last year was no different, we broke out the dye, the kids all turned themselves various shades of pink and green, and Ezra drank half a cup of purple vinegar water.  Good Times.

This year, I am in search of a better alternative to egg dye.  I have read a hundred posts about decorating eggs.  Here are the three that I am going to do with various groups of kids this Easter season.

At Homework and Hangout we are going to do glitter and glue dots.

Glue dotsThe plan is for them to turn out somewhat like this… We will see.

Glitter at Homework and Hangout is often a huge regret before I am done.  BUT THE KIDS LOVE IT!!!!

This looks simple enough, put on the dots and roll it in glitter.  Maybe we could do stations?

IMG_0046At Home with my kids, we are planning an egg blowing night, and then an acrylic paint and sequins decorating party.  This should be fun!  I have high expectations for hilarious pictures.  I have made these eggs before, by myself.  Now that Xander and Raylee are old enough, I think we will make some for our Easter tree here at home.    Last time I made these eggs, they were a set for my mom.  I made one very pretty egg for each of her grand kids.  They turned out beautiful.  I think it was Micah that knocked the Easter tree over and most of the eggs were shattered.  We will make new this year!

And at church with my Sunday school kids we are going to make decoupage eggs with tissue paper or paper napkins.

This looked super easy too, using only tissue paper and mod podge.

Here are a few pics of our last Easter Egg Decorating night at moms.
