Pancakes Made Easier

This is just a quick blog to give a “momledge” tip

Raylee had her cousin Autumn over last night for a sleep over. They asked for pancakes.  We usually do something “special” for breakfast on Saturday mornings anyway, so  this morning we decided on pancakes for breakfast. I had just read a few days ago about using a ketchup bottle to make dipping pancakes easier, and I wanted to try it out for myself.
So I whipped up some pancake batter. Then, I consolidated the two bottles of ketchup in my fridge into one.  I cleaned the bottle out very well with some hot soapy water, then I realized that I would have a hard time getting the batter into the bottle. I hunted for a funnel, which would have been the first choice for this job, and I couldn’t find one.  I didn’t have one small enough to fit the ketchup bottle.  I thought I could just put the batter in a measuring cup and pour it in, but the lumps were a problem, they caused the batter to not flow well.

My husband, who is really smart about practical things, found that the top of Ezra’s sippy bottle fit perfectly in the top of the ketchup bottle. **Brilliant**  He created a “funnel” of sorts to use for the batter.

Here are the photos, for all you visual learners, to show you what we did.
